Trollhättan - starting life in Sweden

7 september 2015 - Trollhättan, Zweden

Well.. I have decided to start this blog thingy to write a little bit about my life here on exchange. I'm not a very good writer, just so you know.

I arrived here on the 25th of August, which means I am here for over two weeks already. I live at Lantmannavägen in a student appartment with two awesome roommates, and a lot of international students in our flat and the flat next to it. We have two supermarkets within 5 minute walking distance, a Lidl and a Willys. Which are both very nice.

The day after we arrived we started with some general information days and some exploring in and around Trollhättan. It's a small city and I like it. The first days we walked to and from the university, which takes about 20-25 minutes. We went to the Waterfalls of Trollhättan and to the city center, and the first weekend we also went to Vänersborg.

After all this exploring, it was time for me to buy a bike. Someone put one on facebook in the first few days, and I was just in time to buy it. Now it only takes me 8 minutes to get to the university, or the city, or the gym, which I also joined within a week. Especially since I didn't have any courses the first week, I could just go to the city center, the market and the gym every day to try some stuff out and go swim.

The monday after we arrived the introduction days started and a lot of things were organized by the Student Union here, of which I became a member. We did a lot of things up until now, such as the kick off with a concert, a volleyball tournament and a trip to the Ikea. These activities go on for the next week. This way we also get to meet Swedish first year students. Which is kind off hard as the international students are together most of the time, and it is easier to hang with the people you already know.

We got to know a lot of people in a short amount of time, especially the other exchange students as we already had some nice parties in the flats. People from all over the world, but also a lot of Dutch and German people!

Soo I guess this was it for now...
